Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company said: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the move was made after an inquiry regarding reports of conduct deemed unsuitable towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

A Highly Successful Writing Journey

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as small-screen adaptations.

He has published in excess of 40 works combined, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE back in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
